Deposit Bonus Question and Examples

Pankaj BalaniCEO, Delta Exchange

How much bonus will I get?

As per the 50% first deposit bonus offer we match your first deposit 1-for-2. Suppose you deposit 0.006 BTC to your Delta Exchange wallet. Since your deposit amount is less than 0.01 BTC the deposit bonus received will be 0.003 BTC and your account balance will become 0.009 BTC.

Suppose if you deposit 0.03 BTC your Delta Exchange wallet. Since your deposit amount is more than 0.01 BTC your bonus will be capped at 0.01 BTC and your account balance will become 0.04 BTC.

Maximum bonus received is 0.01 BTC.
Bonus is only applicable on your first deposit.

Can I trade with bonus amount?

Yes, you can trade with bonus amount. Suppose you deposit 0.02 BTC and get bonus of 0.01 BTC. You available balance will become 0.03 BTC and you can use these funds to trade.

Let’s say you want to take a position of 0.3 BTC on BTCUSD_29Dec contract with 10x Leverage. You will need 0.03 BTC to do that. You can use funds in your account to take this position.

What are the conditions on Withdrawals?

You can withdraw from your account anytime but if a withdrawal is initiated before paying “trading fee = bonus received” you will, in some cases, forfeit the bonus received.

In order to withdraw and still retain the bonus funds you must maintain account balance = 3 * bonus received.

Example:
Suppose you deposit = 0.021 BTC
Bonus received = 0.01 BTC
Wallet Available Balance will be = 0.031 BTC

Let’s say you enter a position of 0.3 BTC notional @ 10x leverage on BTCUSD_29Dec by keeping margin = 0.03 BTC
Fee blocked will be = 0.00045 BTC
Position Margin = 0.03 BTC

Wallet Available Balance = deposit + bonus – position margin – fee blocked = 0.021 + 0.01 – 0.03 – 0.00045 = 0.00055 BTC

Let’s say you register a Profit of 10% (ROE) = 0.03*0.1 = 0.003, and decide to close the position at that point.
*I am assuming that you become taker at both entry and exit trades.

Your new account balance = 0.03+0.003+0.00055 = 0.03355 BTC

Total Fee paid till now = 0.00045 BTC, at this stage since the total fee paid is less than bonus amount received.

Amount you can withdraw without losing bonus = balance – 3 x bonus_received = 0.03355 – 3*0.01 = 0.00355 BTC
Current Max withdraw amount = 0.03355 – 0.01 = 0.02355 BTC.

Note that this amount is equal to: your deposit + profit – fee = 0.021 + 0.003 – 0.00045 = 0.02355 BTC. Hence bonus funds helped you take a larger position and make higher profits. The profits made on bonus funds is yours.

However, one does not always make profits in trading. In order to make sure that this does not mean that traders engage in reckless trading activity withdrawal for 3 times the bonus amount is blocked.

Once your fee paid = 0.01 BTC there is no restriction on withdrawal.

Who bears the losses?

Losses will first impact your funds and then bonus funds.

For Example:
Suppose you deposit = 0.021 BTC
Bonus received = 0.01 BTC
Wallet Available Balance = 0.031 BTC

Let’s say you enter a position of 0.3 BTC notional @ 10x leverage on BTCUSD_29Dec by keeping margin = 0.03 BTC

Fee blocked will be = 0.00045 BTC
Position Margin = 0.03 BTC

Wallet Available Balance = deposit + bonus – position margin – fee blocked = = 0.021 + 0.01 – 0.03 – 0.00045 = 0.00055 BTC

Suppose you register a Loss of 10% (ROE) = -0.03*0.1 = -0.003 BTC and close the position .

Assuming that you paid taker fee at both entry and exit.
Your new Wallet Available Balance = 0.03 – 0.003 + 0.00055 = 0.02755 BTC

Amount you can withdraw without losing bonus = 0.02755 – 3*0.01 = 0 BTC

Current Max Withdraw amount = 0.02755 – 0.01 = 0.01755 BTC
Note that this is equal to: your funds + p/l – fee paid = 0.021 – 0.003 – 0.00045 = 0.01755 BTC

How much trading fee do I have to pay to withdraw all bonus funds received?

Once you have paid trading fee = bonus received by you the withdrawal restriction is lifted on your account and you can withdraw all of bonus funds.

Example:
Suppose your first deposit was = 0.01 BTC
Your bonus received = 0.005 BTC
Trading Fee you are required to pay before you can withdraw bonus funds = 0.005 BTC

Suppose your first deposit was = 0.02 BTC
Your bonus received = 0.01 BTC
Trading Fee you are required to pay before you can withdraw bonus funds = 0.01 BTC

Where can I see how much can I withdraw currently w/o losing bonus?

When you try to withdraw funds you will get a pop-up which will tell you how much can you withdraw without losing bonus and how much you can withdraw, should you choose to forfeit the bonus.

Is Maker fee counted for offset against bonus?

Withdrawal restriction on bonus is lifted when your trading fee paid is more than bonus received. Trading fee paid = Taker fee paid – Maker fee received.

For example:
If you have paid 0.0020 BTC fee as taker and have received 0.0012 BTC as maker. Your net fee paid is 0.0008 BTC.

I had raised a withdrawal request which I cancelled later. My bonus is not credited back to my account. What will happen in such cases?

If you had raised and confirmed a withdrawal request which you cancelled later, your bonus will not be credited back automatically. In such a case please send us an email at [email protected], we will look into your case and credit the bonus if required conditions are met.
